We are proud to be part of an amazing new online platform for leisure sailors which combines access to world-renowned pilot books alongside a rich social experience.
Our client Imray, based in St Ives in Cambridgeshire, is a leading publisher of nautical charts, books and guides and its history can be traced to the 1700s.
As part of their ambitious vision for leading edge digital products, we have worked with them to build Explore with Imray, a new online space that combines access to Imray’s pilot books in digital form, alongside a social hub to record and share sailing adventures.
Sailors are currently using multiple platforms to find information, tell stories, get advice, and discover new destinations, and sailing apps are often focused on navigation and data.
Explore with Imray gives access to official and verified data from cruising guide books, and provides an online space to inspire, all in one in one digital place, something that is not currently available.
We have worked with Imray to build a beta version of the web platform which offers cruising information in digital, interactive, map-based form. The crowdfunding campaign will enable us to continue building and enhancing the platform, and introduce the first social features.
These features will includes user profiles, follow options, and information about sailors and their boats. Users can select a location and share stories and media about it, and see the stories and adventures of others.
